MVP Workshop

Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP) Workshop

DESCRIPTON:

Using a leadership framework, the MVP workshop is designed to increase awareness among participants of the social norms that lead to forms of bullying and harassment, discrimination and gender violence. MVP workshops range from one hour to half day sessions.

The MVP approach empowers active bystanders who can recognize and confront bullying and harassment, discrimination and gender violence before, during and after the fact. This workshop will increase skills and knowledge in bystander education strategies to effect positive culture change in their respective schools, workplaces, social settings, and community environments.

GOALS:

As a result of this workshop, participants will be better prepared to:

  • Identify several ways for a bystander to prevent or stop bullying and harassment, discrimination, and gender violence from escalating
  • Understand the dynamics and social norms that support bullying and harassment, discrimination and gender violence
  • Lead discussions with peers and students on strategies and actions to use to prevent bullying and harassment, discrimination, and gender violence
